Page Turners

Your Book Club Just Got Bigger!

About Page Turners

Page Turners is an app and responsive website design I created for Google’s UX Design Professional Certificate Program. Page Turners allows individuals to select their book preferences and connect with other users to participate in a book exchange program. Users can post books they want to put into the exchange, request books from the community, or go on a blind date with a book. Page Turners provides free reading access for everyone.

The Problem and the Goal

Some people have limited funds for books and don’t have access to the library to select books on a regular basis. Page Turners connects those individuals to other book-loving individuals to exchange books for free within the community. The goal of the project was to create social good by connecting people with limited access to free books and limited social interactions with individuals who share a love of reading and have books to give.

User Pain Points

  • Many online products only give access to eBooks.

  • Some products lack the ability to reach out to others within the product.

  • Some users don’t have a library card or a library and still want to access free books.

What I Learned

Throughout this project, I learned a lot more about Figma and how to create functional components. I also learned that UX design is about more than just creating products for companies; it’s about creating products that benefit the community as a whole.
